20/20: THE YEAR WITH KATIE on ABC is Up in Ratings Year-to-Year

Despite coming out of repeat programming at 9:30pm against the final half-hour of Fox's 2-hour Wednesday finale of The X Factor and NBC's 2-hour Miss Universe Pageant, A Special Edition of 20/20: The Year with Katie Couric was up over its year-ago telecast (on 12/15/11) in both Adults 18-49 (+7%) and Adults 25-54 (+5%).

· Building its numbers at 10pm, The Year with Katie Couric earned second place from 10-11pm with Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54, while finishing #1 among key Women (W18-49/W25-54).

· Versus the most recent installment of A Special Edition of 20/20 with Katie Couric (on 10/26/12), The Year with Katie Couric scorEd Strong double-digit increases in Adults 18-49 (+23%) and Adults 25-54 (+17%).

From the highs and lows in Presidential politics to the major news events like Superstorm Sandy, the Aurora massacre and the resignation of General Petraeus, from the headline-making celebrity romantic breakups and shakeups to the Royal Jubilee and the scandals that rocked Buckingham Palace, 2012 has been an eventful year.

Anchored by Katie Couric, ABC News and PEOPLE Magazine collaborate on an entertaining two-hour primetime broadcast special, with details on these and all the other big stories of the past year... the breakout heroes from the Olympics, the everyday heroes who inspired a nation, the public figures who fell from grace, and the icons who said goodbye after years of success. Couric's reports will include interviews with newsmakers, celebrities and other guests who have a uniquely humorous take on the past year's top stories.
