30 ROCK, PULLING, ABC, Kristen Schall, Mandy Moore
She may have lost her page position on NBC's 30 ROCK, but Kristen Schaal is on the rebound.
According to Deadline, the actress/comedian, best known for her role as 'Hazel' on the recently wrapped ROCK, has signed on to replace MAndy Moore in ABC's upcoming comedy pilot PULLING. She joins Jenny Slate (yes, of MARCEL THE SHELL) and June Diane Raphael (NTSF:SD:SUV::) for the project from ABC and Kapital Entertainment.
The single-camera comedy follows "three dysfunctional women in their 30s - Donna (Raphael), Karen (Slate) and Louise (Schaal) - living their lives the way they want, even if society tells them they should have it all figured out by this point," according to the report.
Jason Moore will direct, while Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are set to pen the script based upon the original series from UK.
For the original report, head on over to Deadline.
Moore was originally set to play the part of 'Louise,' but eventually, no longer seemed to fit in with Slate and Raphael as the script developed.
"Mandy is a pro, and has been very patient and accommodating with us," producers told Deadline recently. "As we moved closer to production, it was clear we needed to go in a different direction for the character, and Mandy agreed to do what was best for the show. She's an immensely gifted actress and we hope to have the pleasure of working with her again."
Aside from her work on 30 ROCK, Schaal has also appeared on HBO's Flight of the Conchords. She has won the award for Best Alternative Comic at HBO's 2006 United States Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. She also is the winner of the 2nd annual Andy Kaufman Award hosted by the New York Comedy Festival as well as the winner of the 2006 Nightlife Award in New York for best female stand-up. Her film and television credits include Mad Men, Human Giant, Ugly Betty, Comedy Central's Freak Show, Live at Gotham, Six Degrees, Conviction, Kate and Leopold, Adam and Steve, Delirious, Law and Order: SVU, and Comedy Central's Contest Searchlight.
