ABC Daytime to Celebrate Academy Awards With Oscar-Themed Programming

ABC-Daytime-to-Celebrate-Academy-Awards-20010101

As the countdown to the 84th Annual Academy Awards® continues, ABC Daytime will feature Oscar Sunday-themed programming across the Daytime Emmy Award-winning show "The View," "The Chew" and "The Revolution." From the nominees to the glitz and glamour of Red Carpet fashions, recipes, drinks and party tips, ABC Daytime provides viewers everything they need to celebrate Oscar Sunday in style.

On "The View" (11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., ET) the co-hosts will continue to showcase many of the nominees during the branded segment, "Countdown to the Oscars." Over the past few months the co-hosts have welcomed nominees Glenn Close ("Albert Nobbs"), Viola Davis ("The Help"), Octavia Spencer ("The Help"), Max Von Sydow ("Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close"), Martin Scorsese (director, "Hugo"), Meryl Streep ("Iron Lady") and Kenneth Branagh ("My Week With Marilyn") as well as guests Phyllida Lloyd (director, "Iron Lady"), Emily Watson ("War Horse") and Sir Ben Kingsley ("Hugo").

Actress Penelope Ann Miller and Uggie the dog from the Best Picture-nominated film "The Artist" are featured guests on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17 during "'The View's' 4th Annual Mutt Show presented by Pedigree."

On "The Chew," (1:00-2:00 p.m., ET) the co-hosts share fun, easy and affordable recipes and party ideas for viewers who want to celebrate Oscar Sunday like a star. On FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, "The Chew" will host its own "Oscar Party" with dishes inspired by this year's Oscar-nominated movies. The hour will include Daphne Oz's "Oscartini" cocktail recipe and Clinton Kelly's Oscar Style, where he will show viewers how to incorporate this year's Red Carpet looks into their own wardrobes. "Chew Crew" correspondent Evette Rios goes behind the scenes during the preparations for this year's Governor's Ball in Los Angeles.

Also on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, "The Revolution" (2:00-3:00 p.m., ET) style guru Tim Gunn will take a look back at the last decade of Oscar fashions and share his favorites from Hollywood's biggest night as he prepares for his Oscar Sunday co-hosting duties on ABC's "Oscars Red Carpet Live." Celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak discusses and demonstrates many of the work-out tips he uses to get his celebrity clients ready for the Red Carpet. Pasternak also has easy solutions to drop a dress size in just one month.

Sherri Shepherd, Cameron Mathison, Shira Lazar and Jake Whetter are confirmed to host the Oscars Backstage Pass on Oscar.com and the official Oscars app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch during the 84th Academy Awards, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26. Developed by the Academy and Disney/ABC Television Group's Digital Media team, the Oscars Backstage Pass is designed to be the ultimate complement to the live telecast. With more than 20 live cameras strategically placed on the Red Carpet, throughout the Kodak Theatre, backstage during the telecast and even inside the Governor's Ball -- which is the official Oscar party of the night -- fans will have insider views into the most memorable moments of the night. Hosts will man positions on the Red Carpet, backstage and at the Governor's Ball, ensuring the fun starts early and goes well beyond the show.

On MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27 the hosts speak live via satellite with co-host Sherri Shepherd as they weigh in on the night, including the Oscar winners, fashion hits & misses, show highlights, post reactions and memorable moments.
