AMC Honored With 3 Golden Globe Nominations

This morning, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 70th AnnuAl Golden Globe(R) Awards. AMC's critically acclaimed, award-winning original dramas "Breaking Bad," and "Mad Men" were honored with 3 nominations, the most in basic cable. Moreover, this marks the first time that "Breaking Bad" has been recognized by the HFPA in the Drama category.

The following is a statement on behalf of AMC President Charlie Collier on today's Globe(R) nominations:

"We are thrilled to be nominated by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and thank them for this distinction. We congratulate Vince Gilligan along with the talented cast and crew of 'Breaking Bad' on their first Golden Globe nomination for the series as well as Bryan Cranston and Jon Hamm on their continued, well-deserved recognition."

AMC's nominations include:

· Best Television Series - Drama: "Breaking Bad"

· Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama: Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad")

· Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Jon Hamm ("Mad Men")

AMC now has a total of four Golden Globe(R) wins and 21 nominations. This marks the first nomination for "Breaking Bad" in the Best Television Series -- Drama category and the third nomination for Bryan Cranston in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama category for his portrayal of Walter White. This marks the fifth nomination for Jon Hamm who also garnered one win in 2007 in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for his portrayal of Don Draper. AMC remains the only basic cable network to win three consecutive Golden Globes(R) for Best Television Series - Drama for "Mad Men."

Set in 1960s New York, "Mad Men" is a sexy and provocative original drama that follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising. Created and executive produced by Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) winner Matthew Weiner, the series concluded its fifth season on June 10, 2012, marking its most watched season to date with an average of 2.6 million viewers (increasing 15% over last season's average).
