According to The Hollywood Reporter, Abby Elliott has announced she will not return for the upcoming 38th season of NBC's long-running comedy show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. The actress has been a cast member on the show for the past four years. She joins fellow castmates Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg, who both recently announced their departures from the show.
Elliot is the daughter of comedian Chris Elliot, who himself appeared on the sketch comedy series. The 25-year-old first hinted that she might leave SNL when she landed the starring role on the upcoming FOX comedy pilot Ben and Kate. However, the role was later recast with Dakota Johnson. Among the many celebrity impressions Elliot took on were Khloe Kardashian, Angelia Jolie and Christina Aguilera to Zooey Deschanel, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence. She has also appeared in the recent films No Strings Attached and High Road.
NBC declined to comment on Elliott's status.
