'American Idol' star Adam Lambert was arrested and jailed last week in Finland after a brawl broke out between him and his boyfriend, Finnish reality star Sauli Koskinen in a Helsinki bar.  The two were arrested and held for several hours pending an interrogation over the incident.

Upon his release, Lambert initially made light of the event, blaming a combination of jet lag and alcohol as the cause of his behavior.  He tweeted, "Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it. :)"

However hours later, the former American Idol contestant regretted taking a less than serisous approach to the situation and tweeted, "Violence is not to be taken lightly. Embarrassed by drunkenness. No punches thrown, no injuries and no charges. Media always exaggerates."

The brawl between Lambert and Koskinen began in a back room of a popular club in Helsinki. The argument became so heated that the two were asked to leave, yet continued their fight on the street. Lambert's friend, former 'Miss Helsinki' Sofia Ruusila, attempted to break up the dispute and was accidently hit by Lambert in the process.

Lambert's new single, 'Better Than I Know Myself' was just released this past Tuesday. On Wednesday, he had tweeted from Helsinki that he was thrilled that the song had already reached the number 2 spot on iTunes in the Middle East.
