TVLine has announced that Fox's THE MINDY PROJECT is undergoing a bit of a midseason casting change.
Amanda Setton, who plays Shauna, has officially departed the series, while Anna Camp, who plays Gwen, Mindy Kaling's best friend, has downsized her role to that of a recurring character.
Setton is reprotedly leaving due to creative reasons. Camp, however, requested the alteration to her role requirement to explore other opportunities without leaving the series for good. In addition, the series is in the Early Stages of introducing a new female character. The role would be that of Maggie, a tomboy college friend of Mindy's.
As previously reported by TalkTV World, Fox has picked up Mindy Kaling's freshman series for a full season.
THE MINDY PROJECT is a biting new single-camera comedy from Emmy Award-nominated writer/producer and New York Times best-selling author Mindy Kaling (“The Office”) that follows a woman who, despite having a successful career, is unlucky in love and desperately needs to get her personal life back on track before her friends and colleagues are forced to stage an intervention.
