According to TVLine.com, Annie Potts has just been cast as veterinarian George's (played by Justin Kirk) mother Virginia in NBC's Animal Practice.
Virginia is described as, "snobbish, racist, and utterly self-absorbed. But much like her son, deep down she has something resembling a heart."

Potts' film credits include Ghostbusters, Pretty in Pink, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Who's Harry Crumb? and Ghostbusters II, as well as Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Her other television credits include Love & War, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award, Lifetime's Any Day Now, ABC's GCB and CBS' Designing Women. She has appeared on Broadway in 2009's God of Carnage and Off-Broadway in The Vagina Monologues.
The new season of Animal Practice will debut on September 26 at 8/7c.
