As first reported on Deadline.com, film and Broadway stars, (and married couple) Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith are set to executive produce a new pilot for Lifetime titled AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE.  Griffith is currently negotiating to star in the show as well.

The script, written by Erik Jendresen, revolves around "a mother of two children who has conversations with her inner voice while dealing with one of her kids leaving home for college and the other remaining at home," according to Deadline.

Banderas is planning a return to Broadway in the upcoming  ZORBA!  He last appeared on Broadway in  NINE for which he received a Tony Award nomination and a Drama Desk Award.  His film credits include Evita, Shrek 2, The Mask of Zorro, And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself, and The House of the Spirits.

Griffith has appeared on Broadway in the role of  Roxie Hart in CHICAGO.  She is perhaps best known for her role in the film Working Girl.  Other film credits include Born Yesterday, and Mulholland Falls.
