Ari Graynor to Lead CBS' BAD TEACHER Adaptation Ari Graynor has officially been cast as the 'new' Cameron Diaz in CBS' upcoming adaptation of the 2011 film BAD TEACHER, according to TV Guide.

The movie follows Meredith Davis (Graynor), a recent divorcee who decides to become a teacher in order to land a new husband. She joins previously announced David Alan Grier, who will play the principal of Davis' school.

The project comes from Hilary Winston (COMMUNITY, HAPPY ENDINGS) who will write the script and serve as executive producer. Original screenwriters Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are also on board for the pilot.

Ari Graynor most recently starred in Broadway's short-lived play THE PERFORMERS, opposite Henry Winkler, Cheyenne Jackson, and Alicia Silverstone. She also starred in in RELATIVELY SPEAKING, and previously appeared in Douglas Carter Bean e's THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED and Donald Margulies's Brooklyn Boy, for which she received the Clarence Derwent Award. Her Off-Broadway credits include TRUST and DOG SEES GOD. Ari's many films include the upcoming "For a Good Time, Call..." (opening late summer 2012), "Celeste and Jesse Forever," the recent "The Sitter," "Conviction," "What's Your Number?" as well as standout roles in "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist," "Youth in Revolt" and her film debut in "Mystic River." Ms. Graynor's TV credits include her debut recurring role on HBO's THE SOPRANOS and a recurring role on FRINGE.
