BOY MEETS WORLD's Trina McGee Open to Returning for Series Spin-Off

Following Disney's announcement of a spin-off of the hit 1990s sitcom BOY MEETS WORLD, featuring original stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, fans have been heralding behind a full-cast reunion on the sequel series. Today, Trina McGee, who played 'Angela Moore' on the series, confirmed she was open to appearing on the spin-off, GIRL MEETS WORLD.

"I am excited for the BOY MEETS WORLD fans!" Moore said in a statement. "GIRL MEETS WORLD should be a big hit among the new generation. You never know Angela Moore might live again".

McGee's 'Moore' was the sensitive, no nonsense girl who dated Cory's best friend, Shawn (Rider Strong.)

"Everyday when I sign autographs or walk in a store, I am reminded I'm Angela from fans of the show," she said. "Thousands of women and men through the years who are involved in inter-racial relationships confess to me that my role as Angela gave them courage and strength to stay together."

Recently, Rider Strong announced that he too would be up for appearing in GIRL MEETS WORLD.

"At this point, I have no official involvement in Girl Meets World," Rider said. "There might be a chance to see some of the BMW cast in a guest spot, and I think it would be nice to find out where our characters have been all these years."

The actor shared that he is willing to be involved in the latest series if he were to be invited back, commenting, "Boy Meets World was a defining aspect of my life, and I cherish those seven years. It was never just a job — on a personal level, many of my best memories and friendships were formed because of it."

GIRL MEETS WORLD will follow Riley, the teenage daughter of Cory and Topanga, picking up over a decade after the show concluded its run on ABC in 2000. At this time, no other stars from the original series are set to return.

The pilot is still in early development, though BOY MEETS WORLD creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs is still holding the reigns - though a nationwide casting search has begun to nail down the role of Riley.
