Barry Corbin to Guest Star on ABC's MODERN FAMILY

As first reported on TVLine.com, actor Barry Corbin will be making a guest star appearance on the ABC comedy series MODERN FAMILY in the role of Cam's father. 

The actor will play Merle Tucker, the father of Eric Stonestreet's Cam and is described as "solid, masculine and gruff". The episode is set to air during the May sweeps period. 

Last week, Stonestret tweeted a photo (left) of himself with Corbin taken at the episode's first table read. The caption for the photo read "Fans of Modern Family: Please meet Cam’s Dad, Merle Tucker.”

Corbin is best known for his TV role on the long-running comedy series 'Northern Exposure'. His other TV credits include 'One Tree Hill' and 'The Closer' in which he played the role of the father to Kyra Sedgwick's Brenda.
