Bernadette Peters Set to Sing Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman Song on SMASH in Season 2!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported,  Bernadette Peters, who guest starred last season as Ivy's (Megan Hilty) mom, will return in season two. Marc Shaiman just revealed on his Facebook page: 'My birthday present this year will arrive one day late but well worth the delay, for it is the fact that Bernadette Peters will be filming an original song of ours tomorrow on SMASH. With a Jonathan Tunick orchestration! Musical theatre heaven. So I can die happy. (And no, I have no idea when SMASH starts airing, don't bother asking!").'

The second season of SMASH will include a growing list of high-profile guest stars, including Nikki Blonsky, Jesse L. Martin, Jeremy Jordan, Sean Hayes and Jennifer Hudson.
