EW reports that Betsy Brandt has been cast in the upcoming NBC sitcom starring Michael J. Fox. The 'Breaking Bad' actress will portRay Fox's wife in the series. The untitled project is based on Fox's real life. The actor will portray Mike Burnaby, described as "a New York City newscaster who goes back to work and has to juggle his family, career and Parkinson's disease."
Explained NBC entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt recently, "Michael came in and pitched us the show, and it's completely inspired by his life as a father and a husband and a family man who is grappling with [Parkinson's] disease."
Yesterday it was announced that actress Katie Finneran (I Hate My Teenage Daughter) will play Fox's sister on the show, joining previously announced cast members Conor Romero (Person of Interest) as his son.
Brandt had guest roles on TV's Without a Trace, Judging Amy, ER, Boston Legal, The Practice and NCIS. She is currently featured in the AMC drama series Breaking Bad as Marie Schrader. She has also played Sandy in the NBC drama Parenthood. Her film credits include Shelf Life, Confidence and Memphis Bound and Gagged.
The AMC series Breaking Bad will conclude this summer.
