Comedian Betty White, star of the new NBC hidden camera series Betty White: OFF THEIR ROCKER, joined Twitter yesterday in order to promote her new show and send a seductive message to 'American Idol' Host Ryan Seacrest.
White aimed the third of her first three tweets at Seacrest posting, Hey @RyanSeacrest - my new show airs tomorrow and I hear we're in the same time slot. I've always dreamed of sharing a night with you...
White has already racked up over 100,000 followers since starting her Twitter account yesterday.
Betty White: OFF THEIR ROCKER takes senior stereotypes and blows them out of the water with a cast of sassy septuagenarians who are hip, sexy and ready to party. America's favorite comedy sweetheart sends a fearless band of senior citizens to the streets to pull shockingly hilarious pranks on the younger generation in "Betty White's Off Their Rockers," an outrageously funny "hidden camera" show unlike anything viewers have ever seen. White, a seven-time Emmy Award winner, will star and executive produce the series, adapted from the hit Belgium series "Benidorm Bastards." "People have been telling me that I'm 'off my rocker' for years," says White. "Now I can prove it!"
From the moment the show begins, it's clear that White and her gang are ready to take the world by storm. In the vein of "Punk'd," the show delivers cleverly-crafted comedic stunts, candid moments and priceless reactions captured by hidden cameras. Sassy seniors are on a mission, targeting unsuspecting young “marks” with their irreverent behavior, from asking a young girl in a mall to sign a petition banning ugly people from reproducing, to having an older woman proposition a young man at an airport gate to join her in the "mile high" club.
As star of the series, the inimitable and charming White will be featured in brazenly funny sketches, providing saucy commentary between the pranks and sharing her engaging, comicAl Pearls of wisdom. Turning 90 years old in January 2012, White remains one of the busiest – and funniest – actresses in Hollywood, whose credits range from the classic "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Golden Girls" to her current starring role on "Hot in Cleveland."
Betty White: OFF HER ROCKER airs Wednesdays at 8:00 pm/et on the NBC Network.
