As the power in Washington takes an historic shift this week, John Boehner (R-Ohio) will sit down one on one with NBC News' BrIan Williams on Thursday, January 6th for his first interview as Speaker of the House. Williams will get exclusive details on Boehner's recent transition to the most influential member of the 112th Congress, and the challenges ahead as he prepares to take on Obama's Democratic policies. The interview-to be held in the Speaker's ceremonial office-comes as "NBC Nightly News" closes out 2010 as America's number evening newscast, continuing to widen its lead over the competition.

Portions of the interview will air on "NBC Nightly News" Thursday, January 6th at 6:30 PM/ET. The transcript and an extended interview will be available on nightly.msnbc.com. Photos will be available on www.nbcumv.com. Bob Epstein is the executive producer of "NBC Nightly News with BrIan Williams." Aurelia Grayson and Jamie Kraft are the senior broadcast producers.
