FACE THE NATION Finishes First in 4th Quarter for the First Time Since 1987

In fourth quarter 2012 (most current), CBS News' FACE THE NATION WITH Bob Schieffer finished first in both households and viewers in a fourth quarter for the first time since the advent of people meters (at least August 1987). FACE THE NATION is also up +14% in both households (2.4/06 from 2.1/05) and viewers (3.28m from 2.89m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to fourth quarter 2011. FACE THE NATION posted its best fourth quarter deliveries in households since 2001, in viewers since 1992 and matched last year's adults 25-54 fourth quarter delivery.

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +14% in both households (2.4/06 from 2.1/05) and viewers (3.28m from 2.89m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to last year.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, FACE THE NATION posted a 2.6/07 in households, 3.53m viewers and 0.8/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 45% of the CBS affiliates. On the broadcast, CBS THIS MORNING co-host Norah O'Donnell substituted for Bob Schieffer and interviewed Sen. Richard Durbin (D-IL) and Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK). CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes and CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett reported on the fiscal cliff negotiations. O'Donnell also hosted a political roundtable with Time magazine executive editor Michael Duffy, Time magazine columnist Joe Klein, Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan and Vanity Fair contributor Dee Dee Myers.
