CBS News' FACE THE NATION WITH Bob Schieffer was the #1 public affairs show on Sunday, Nov. 18, placing first in households, viewers and adults 25-54. The CBS broadcast posted a 2.5/06 in households, 3.46m viewers and 0.8/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 47% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +25% in households (from 2.0/05) and +23% in viewers (from 2.82m).
In the November 2012 Sweep, FACE THE NATION was first in households (2.5/06), viewers (3.41m) and adults 25-54 (0.8/03, tied with NBC). FACE THE NATION posted its first households and viewers victory in a November Sweep since the advent of people meters (at least August 1987). FACE THE NATION posted its best November Sweep delivery in households since 2000 and its best November Sweep delivery in viewers since 1993. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +15% in both households (2.3/06 from 2.0/05) and viewers (3.22m from 2.81m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03), compared to last year. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.22m), households (2.3/06, tied with NBC) and adults 25-54 (0.8/03, tied with NBC) among the Sunday morning public affairs programs. On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer discussed the conflict in the Middle East with David Ignatius of The Washington Post. CBS News Correspondents Allen Pizzey and Charlie D'Agata reported the latest from Tel Aviv and Gaza. Schieffer also interviewed Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and hosted a political roundtable with Ignatius, Tom Ricks of The Washington Post, CBS News Justice and Homeland Security Correspondent Bob Orr and CBS News State Department Correspondent Margaret Brennan.
FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer.
