CBS News Senior Correspondent John Miller provides a look into a secretive Hasidic sect after a young woman accused a male leader of sexual abuse, in a report that will be broadcast today, Dec. 8 on CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Nechemya Weberman, an unlicensed male religious counselor within the Satmar Hasidic sect of Judaism in Brooklyn, N.Y., is on trial for allegedly molesting a student under his care when she was 12 years old. Now 18 years old, Weberman’s accuser is being labeled a heretic for speaking out about the male-dominated society. Miller reveals the challenges police faced investigating the crime inside the secretive sect. To understand Weberman’s Hasidic community, Miller interviews Deborah Feldman, a woman born and raised in the strict society, who eventually left the sect. Anthony Mason and Rebecca Jarvis are the co-hosts of CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY. Michael Rosen is the Executive Producer of CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY.
