Chevy Chase to Officially Depart COMMUNITY

After making plenty of threats - longtime comedy legend Chevy Chase is officially departing NBC's COMMUNITY. TV Guide reached out to sources and confirmed the news tonight.

The actor has had a standing feud with the network and show creator Dan Harmon - and has made it known. "I think the reason I have stuck around is because I love these kids, the cast - they are very good," Chase said in an interview. "It's not like I am working with the great innovators of all time, but at the same time, they are my friends." 

COMMUNITY is set to finally return Thursday, Feb. 7 on NBC after the network halted production due to lower ratings than they'd hoped, and Chase's use of the 'N Word' at a cast function.

Critically-acclaimed "Community" is a smart, exuberant half-hour comedy series about a tight-knit study group at Greendale Community College. At the center of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, “The Soup”), a fast-talking lawyer whose degree has been revoked. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group who eventually learn more about themselves than their course work.

It's unclear at this time when Chase's last episode will be - or if the series will even acknowledge his departure.
