Weep no more for the recently-widowed Lady Mary! According to the UK Sun, the Downton Abbey resident will have a new love interest when the historic drama returns for a fourth season.
The character, named "Lord Anthony Gillingham" is described as 35 to 45 years old, "good looking, very charismatic," sporting a "perfect cut glass accent." He's "warm and charming, but also a strong man with morals." The casting notice also reveals that he'll be helping the family with their financial woes.
The newspaper also shared that the show has cast the role of musician Jack Ross, described as "male, 25-30. A musician (singer) at an exclusive club in the 20s. He's black and very handsome. A real man (not a boy) with charm and charisma." The casting notice adds that the actor should "ideally be able to sing brilliantly" and that overall he should be "very attractive" with "a certain wow factor." No other details on the role have been revealed as of now, but word is, the newest bachelor may have his sights set on Rose.
The third character listed in the notice is Sir John Bullock, who "must be able to act drunk." There is no word as to exactly how he fits into the mix.Filming for the fourth season of the British drama series is set to begin March 23.
