Actress Kathryn Leigh Scott, best known for her role in the original Dark Shadows TV series, is the latest name to sign up for a special-guest-star turn in the award-winning gay web show Old Dogs & New Tricks' third season, shooting this fall in Los Angeles.

The role of "Maggie Smith," the ingenue in love with vampire Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) in the ground-breaking 1970s daytime dramaDark Shadows, catapulted Scott to stardom. She went on to reprise the role in the big-screen sequel House of Dark Shadows, and has since guest-starred in numerous television series and appeared in several feature films. She also made a cameo appearance in last year's big-screen remake starring Johnny Depp, directed by Tim Burton.

Scott will play "Lily Anne Carter," mother to lead character Al "Muscles" Carter, in two Christmas-themed episodes of Old Dogs & New Tricks'upcoming season.

"I am thrilled that Ms. Scott is on board," says Acord, also created and writes the series. "Not only is she perfect casting to play Muscles' mom, but she's more than a star--to the 'Old Dogs' generation, the lady is an icon."

Old Dogs & New Tricks (www.OldDogsNewTricksTheSeries.com) is a comedy about four middle-aged gay best friends struggling to stay vital and relevant in youth-obsessed West Hollywood. The show is created and written by Acord, and also stars Curt Bonnem, David Pevsner, Jeffrey Patrick Olson and Doug Spearman (Noah's Arc).

Scott joins new season-three guest stars Rutanya Alda (Mommie Dearest), Gloria Gifford (Halloween 2), Matthew Martin, Aaron Wimmer& Andy Gates. Ian Buchanan (General Hospital), Marc Anthony Samuel (GH) and Bruce L. Hart (Homewrecker) will also reprise their guest-starring roles in the upcoming season.

During its run, the series has attracted several impressive guest stars, including gay Olympian Greg Louganis, gay theatre legend Michael Kearns, Patrick Bristow (Showgirls), Thom Bierdz (Young & the Restless), and Terri Garber (Dynasty).

The show won "Outstanding Dramedy" and "Outstanding Ensemble Cast" honors in the 2012 LA Web Fest.

The third season will debut online in February 2012. Viewers can support the third season of Old Dogs & New Tricks at http://igg.me/at/ODNTS3/x/597798 before Tues, June 18.
