TVGuide reports that Dylan McDermott has signed on to the CBS political thriller HOSTAGES. The actor joins previously announced cast member Tony Collette in the project.
According to the report, McDermott will portray 'Duncan', described as "a righteous FBI agent who is at the center of a political conspiracy involving the President." Collette takes on the role of the leader of a family that is "forever changed after being caught up in the conspiracy."The pilot, based on the Israeli format, is written and executive-produced by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (The Day After Tomorrow), with Jerry Bruckheimer among the executive producers.McDermott is best known for his role as lawyer and law firm head Bobby Donnell on the television legal drama The Practice, which earned him a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination, and his role in the series American Horror Story as Dr. Ben Harmon. He also starred in the TNT series Dark Blue as Lt. Carter Shaw.
