The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation announced today that one of the four 2013 Bradley Prizes will be awarded to Roger Ailes, the Chairman and CEO of FOX News.

The award will be presented to Mr. Ailes during the tenth annual Bradley Prizes ceremony that will be held at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, June 12. Each award carries a stipend of $250,000.

From 1970-1992, Mr. Ailes operated Ailes Communications, Inc., a media advisory company that counted among its clients three U.S. Presidents, senators, governors, and Fortune 500 CEOs. In 1996, he launched FOX News Channel. Since 2002, it has been America's leading cable news source. In 2007, he oversaw the launch of FOX Business Network. Prior to FOX, Mr. Ailes was president of CNBC and quickly established that network as the leading television network for business news. He has produced several nationally syndicated television specials, including the Emmy Award-winning Television and the Presidency.

"Roger Ailes has been a visionary of American journalism," said Michael W. Grebe, President and CEO of the Bradley Foundation. "His innovative business-building strategies have revolutionized the uncovering and delivery of news in America," said Mr. Grebe.

The selection was based on nominations solicited from more than 200 prominent individuals across the country and chosen by the Bradley Prizes Selection Committee.

"Through the Bradley Prizes, we recognize individuals like Roger Ailes whose accomplishments strengthen American institutions, in hopes that others will strive for excellence in their respective fields," said Mr. Grebe.

Founded in 1985, The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation is devoted to strengthening American democratic capitalism and the institutions, principles and values that sustain and nurture it. Its programs support limited, competent government; a dynamic marketplace for economic, cultural activity; and a vigorous defense, at home and abroad, of American ideas and institutions. Recognizing that responsible self-government depends on enlightened citizens and informed public opinion, the Foundation supports scholarly studies and academic achievement.
