GLEE PROJECT RUNDOWN: The Final Episode - Who Won a Role on GLEE?

GLEE-PROJECT-RUNDOWN-The-Final-Episode-Who-Won-a-Role-on-GLEE-20010101

For the final week of THE GLEE PROJECT, the cast was assigned their last homework assignment: Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," which has been dubbed by some as Glee's trademark song.

Their mentor is none other than Glee's creator, Ryan Murphy. Watching their performance, he cuts the contestants off scarcely into the first few lines and feigns disappointment - then brings in all of the past contenders to add some volume to the song. There's no homework winner this week; it's all or nothing.

All twelve will perform Pink's "Raise Your Glass" for the last music video. Samuel and Lindsay both struggle more than their competition during the recording session, but during the video shoot (on the rooftop, no less) everyone seems to pull it together.

The cast must perform for the usual three judges plus co-creator Ian Brennan and all of their former mentors. This time, though, they get to pick their own songs.

Up first is Lindsay, channeling her best Sutton Foster into Thoroughly Modern Millie's "Gimme Gimme." They don't get feedback, so directly following her performance Damian shows his jazzy side with Bobby Darin's "Beyond the Sea," and then Samuel takes on Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Alex, in drag, performs "I Am Changing" from Dreamgirls to round out the performances.

All of the judges deliberate together, but ultimately, choreographer Zach Woodlee puts it best: "We'll try to figure out what Ryan's decision is."

Alex is the first to be told he's not the winner, followed by Lindsay; Samuel and Damian remain waiting for their fate, and Ryan contrasts Damian's friendly presence with Samuel's intense one.

He tells Samuel that he's won The Glee Project, and a disappointed Damian takes the gracious route, telling Ryan that Samuel deserves it - only to be told that he also won The Glee Project and they'll both be featured in seven episodes on the show! Lindsay and Alex also get two episodes each, and it's a delighted final four ending the show in celebration.

So keep an eye out - all four of the finalists will be featured on your television screen during Glee's third season and the show returns to airwaves September 20.

From Ryan Murphy, the creator and Emmy® award-winning executive producer of "Glee," and executive producer of "Glee" Dante di Loreto, "The Glee Project" is a 10-episode competition series seeking to find the next star of "Glee" and will award one winner with the ultimate prize of a seven-episode role in season three of the hit FOX show. The series began with 12 extraordinarily talented individuals that were picked from thousands of entries, and an exhaustive nationwide and online talent search.

The series uncovers a unique group of artists from both professional and amateur backgrounds, proving every underdog has a fighting chance at stardom. Each week one contender is sent home through intensive rounds of singing, dancing and acting based on assignments. During the final ‘Last Chance Round,' the bottom three must perform for Ryan Murphy, casting director Robert Ulrich, and choreographer Zach Woodlee as they carefully assess which of them has what it takes to be one of the next new faces of the award-winning show.
