Carla Gugino and Addison Timlin have landed major roles on the upcoming Season 4 of Showtime's comedy series Californication, according to a report on Deadline.com.

"In 10 episodes, Entourage alumna Gugino will play a new love interest to troubled novelist Hank Moody (David Duchovny), a likeable corporate attorney. Moody is expected to go through the legal system this coming season after being dragged away in handcuffs in the last scene of the Season 3 finale. Appearing in eight episodes, Timlin (Cashmere Mafia) will play an actress starring in the film within the show."

The Showtime Original Series Californication is back with an all-new season, and this time famed novelist and NYC transplant Hank Moody is heading back to school as a college professor. The truth-telling, hard-living scribe struggles to balance his new life as the Big Man on Campus, while raising a rebellious daughter to "do as I say, not as I do."

Famed novelist & NYC transplant Hank relocated to LA after his acclaimed book was optioned, only to be disappointed when it later becomes a crappy romantic comedy. Since then, he's struggled to get his career back on track and raise his young daughter, all while pining for his ex-girlfriend. It may sound desperate, but he enjoys life and owns all his various vices — drink, drugs and women — with a refreshing sense of honesty and unapologetic candor. He's holding it together while falling apart, and he doesn't mind it one bit.

New episodes air exclusively on Showtime every Sunday night, starting September 27, with encore broadcasts on Showtime throughout the week.
