The citizens of Pawnee, Indiana may have to hope that their governing leader won't reveal too many local secrets when Amy Poehler's upcoming memoir is published in 2014. According to The NY Times, HarperCollins' It Books imprint has aquired the rights to the PARK'S AND RECREATION star's debut entry into the publishing world.
In a statement issued by the publisher, the as-yet untitled book was "inspired in part by Poehler's interest in helping young women navigate the adult world," adding that the memoir would be "an illustrated, non-linear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons" and will offer "a unique and engaging experience from one of today's most talented and beloved stars."
The SNL alum will join an increasing number of female comedians who are trying their hand at writing, including Tina Fey's "Bossypants," and a new book by Lena Dunham, creator and star of HBO's "Girls."The terms of Ms. Poehler's deal were not disclosed at this time.
