In a partnership that will make history buffs and steak lovers alike take note, the cable network HISTORY and Morton's The Steakhouse announce a special power dining experience today in honor of the upcoming television series on HISTORY, THE MEN WHO BUILT AMERICA. The series chronicles how five American visionaries - Cornelius Vanderbilt, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, and Henry Ford - created the very concept of the American Dream, transformed the U.S. into a global superpower in a span of just 50 years, and affected the lives of every person in the world. Allowing diners to experience a menu fit for these magnates and how they may have celebrated their momentous successes, Morton's will offer The Men Who Built America pre-fixe menu in all 63 of its U.S. locations. The menu will be available as of Friday October 12, 2012 and will run nightly for the next six weeks. THE MEN WHO BUILT AMERICA premieres Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 9pm on HISTORY.
Raising a glass to accounts that in 1911 John D. Rockefeller, America's first billionaire, inspired a bartender at the Knickerbocker Hotel in Manhattan to create a martini just for him, Morton's The Men Who Built America menu features The Rockefeller Martini as its signature cocktail ($14). It is made with London Dry Gin, dry vermouth, bitters, lemon peel and an olive.
