Oscar-winners Holly Hunter and William Hurt have officially signed on for Lifetime and History's upcoming BONNIE & CLYDE mini-series, Deadline has confirmed.

Bruce Beresford is set to direct the special, which will air simultaneously on both networks with Sony Pictures TV and Storyline Entertainment Producing. The series, written by John Rice and Joe Batteer, will be based upon the true story of the thieving couple Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.
Hunter is set to play Bonnie's mother 'Emma Parker,' while Hurt will take on the role of 'Frank Hunter' the Texas ranger who tracked the infamous pair down. The titular roles are still being cast at this time.
Production on BONNIE & CLYDE is expected to begin this year.
