BUNHEADS, ABC Family
A stellar sibling casting set-up has been established on ABC Family's BUNHEADS.
Entertainment Tonight has revealed that Broadway veteran Hunter Foster is set to join his sister - Tony-award winner Sutton Foster - on the ballet-themed dramedy.
If the sibling reunion wasn't news enough - Hunter will play Michelle's (Sutton) brother, Scotty Simms. Scotty and Michelle reportedly have a tight-knit relationship, having raised each other, but Scotty doesn't stay in one place for long: he has a tendency to fall in and out of marriages.
Tired of her life as a showgirl in Las Vegas, Michelle (Foster) impulsively agrees to marry Hubbell - her biggest fan. But her arrival into his small town isn't well received - especially by his mother (Kelly Bishop, "Gilmore Girls"), who runs a dance studio full of "Bunheads."
Hunter Foster's credits include: Broadway: Million Dollar Quartet, The Producers, Little Shop of Horrors (Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critic nominations), Urinetown (Outer Critic nomination), LES MISERABLES, Grease, Footloose and King David. Off-Broadway: Happiness (Drama Desk nomination), Ordinary Days, Frankenstein, Dust, Modern Orthodox, Urinetown (Lucille Lortel nomination). Regional: Little Miss Sunshine (La Jolla), Kiss of the Spider Woman (Signature Theatre, Helen Hayes nomination), The Government Inspector, Martin Guerre (Guthrie), Mister Roberts (Kennedy Center), Children of Eden (Paper Mill), Lend Me a Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo, Boeing Boeing (Cape Playhouse). National Tours: Cats, Martin Guerre, The Producers. As a writer, he wrote the librettos for the musicals Summer of '42, Bonnie & Clyde: a Folktale and The Hollow. Hunter is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
The series returns with all new episodes with the mid-season premiere on Monday, January 7th at 9PM ET/PT. Hunter's first episode is set to air on Jan. 28.
