TVGuide reports that the CBS network has ordered a comedy pilot from Jim Gaffigan. The comedian will partner with Peter Tolan, co-creator of 'Rescue Me,' on the series to which the network has given a "pilot commitment that almost guarantees a series pickup."
According to the report, the project will be loosely based on Gaffigan's life. He will co-write the single-camera comedy with Tolan. The series will be set in New York and will see Gaffigan portraying "a guy who shares a two-bedroom apartment with his wife and five children."Gaffigan recently announced that he will pen a family book set to be released next summer. His previous TV credits include That '70s Show and My Boys. Tolan's previous credits include The Larry Sanders Show, Murphy Brown and Home Improvement.
