Amazon is bolstering its all-star lineup as it keeps the greenlight on for original content.

According to Deadline, TV and film star John Goodman has signed on to star in ALPHA HOUSE, one of Amazon Studios' six new pilots.

Written by Academy Award nominee and Pulitzer-Prize winner Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury, Tanner '88), ALPHA HOUSE follows four senators who live together in a rented house in Washington DC. Goodman will play Senator Gil John Biggs of North Carolina, a grumpy man with a sense of entitlement from his years as a college basketball coach.

Goodman isn't the only big-name attached to an Amazon pilot, however. Broadway legend Bebe Neuwirth also inked a deal to star in the upcoming musical comedy pilot, BROWSERS.

Four-time SAG Awards nominee John Goodman won an award this year alongwith his co-stars in "Argo." Other recent film roles include "Trouble With the Curve" and "Flight." Next up are two dramas - the Coen Brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis" and George Clooney's "The Monuments Men" - and the comedies "The Hangover: Part III" and "The Internship." This summer, he reprises the role of Sulley in "Monsters University," the sequel to the Disney-Pixar animated film "Monsters, Inc."
