Averaging a 3.4 rating, 14 share in adults 18-49 and 8.4 million viewers overall, the March 9 telecast scored the show's highest results in both categories since January 7, 2012, with a telecast hosted by Charles Barkley and featuring musical guest Kelly Clarkson on the night of a primetime NFL playoff game.The March 9 "Saturday Night Live" tied the #6 primetime telecast of the week on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49 (CBS's "NCIS") and trailed among the week's primetime programs on those networks only CBS's "Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men" and Fox's three editions of "American Idol."Prior season highs for "SNL" came with the January 26 telecast hosted by Adam Levine and featuring musical guest Kendrick Lamar, which averaged a 2.7/10 in 18-49 and 7.3 million viewers overall.The March 9 edition featured guest appearances by Dan Aykroyd, Alec Baldwin, Candice Bergen, Chevy Chase, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, Martin Short and Paul Simon.Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise noted.
