As first reported in The Hollywood Reporter, actor Ken Olin will join the cast of ABC's upcoming drama pilot AMERICANA. The actor will play the role of 'Martin', the owner of a garment manufacturing company whose daughter is the clothing designer for the business.
The project is described as "a soap revolving around a legendary fashion designer and his family." Olin will join previously announced cast members Anthony LaPaglia and Natalie Mendoza on the show.
Michael Seitzman will write the script for the drama and will executive produce along with Mark Gordon, Nick Pepper and Phillip Noyce, who will also direct the pilot.
Ken Olin was most recently seen on TV in the role of David Caplan on ABC's family drama Brothers & Sisters, which he also executive produced and directed. The show left the air in May after a five-season run. He also appeared on the long-running drama series 'Thirtysomething'.
