Deadline reports that Kevin Dunn will have a recurring role on HBO’s comedy series VEEP starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The actor will portray Ben, described as "the President’s Chief of Staff. Pragmatic and no-nonsense, Ben finds himself unable to navigate the all-spin-all-the-time world of Washington politics."
The role marks a return to the cable network for the actor who starred in last year's short-lived HBO drama series Luck. He will next be seen in Lionsgate’s The Frozen Ground, in the Steve Jobs biopic Jobs and Diego Luna’s Chavez.
In other casting news, Cierra Ramirez, Hayden Byerly and Danny Nucci will join the cast of ABC Family’s drama pilot The Fosters, executive produced by Jennifer Lopez. The series follows the story of "Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) Foster, a mixed-race couple who are raising Stef’s biological son Brandon (David Lambert), along with several adopted children. When Lena decides to take in Callie (Maia Mitchell), a troubled teen with an abusive past, Callie’s disruptive ways threaten to turn the Fosters’ lives upside down."
Nucci will portray Mike, described as "Stef’s handsome ex-husband and Brandon’s biological father, a cop who requests to partner up with Stef after her regular partner leaves the department." Ramirez will play Marianna Foster, described as "a smart-as-a-whip straight-A student who was adopted out of foster care by Stef and Lena, along with her fraternal twin, Jesus." Byerly will take on the role of Callie’s 13-year-old brother, whom she attempts to save from his abusive foster home.
Finally, Graham PatRick Martin will star in the role of Anna Nicole Smith’s son Danny in Lifetime’s original movie The Anna Nicole Story, based on the true life story of Vickie Lynn Hogan. Also co-starring in the movie are Agnes Bruckner, Virginia Madsen and Martin Landau.
