MEET THE PRESS Sees Big Ratings Win During May Sweeps

According to Nielsen Media Research data for the May '10 sweep, "Meet the Press with David Gregory" was the No. 1 Sunday morning public affairs program averaging 3.002 million total viewers, +21 percent more (+512,000) than second place CBS' "Face the Nation" 2.490 million, a +35 percent advantage (+783,000) over third place ABC's "This Week" 2.219 million and a +169 percent lead (+1,884,000) over FOX News Sunday's 1.118 million. "Meet the Press" has now placed first in total viewers for 50 straight sweeps.

In Washington, D.C. during the May '10 sweep period, the NBC program averaged 100,000 viewers (3.9/12), a +376% lead over ABC'S 21,000 (0.9/3), +245% more than CBS' 29,000 (1.0/3), and a +203% advantage over FOX's 33,000 (1.1/3).

In homes, the broadcast came in first with a 2.2 rating and 7 share. CBS came in second with 1.8 rating and 5 share, ABC in third with a 1.6 rating and 5 share and FOX placed last with a 0.8 rating and 2 share. "Meet the Press" has now placed first in homes for 53 consecutive sweeps (including two ties with ABC).

In adults 25-54, the NBC program placed first with a 0.8 rating (1,033,000 viewers) for the May '10 sweep, CBS came in second with 0.6 rating (755,000), ABC in third with 0.6 rating (719,000 viewers) and FOX News was last with 0.4 rating (444,000).

"Meet the Press" has now placed first in rating women 25-54 for 65 sweeps (6 ties) and first among adults 25-55 for 69 consecutive sweeps (8 ties).
