My, how quickly they grow up! Seems like just yesterday Cory and Topanga were studying for Mr. Feeny's History exam, yet here they are, parents of a little girl! TVLine reports that 'Spy Kids' actress Rowan Blanchard has been cast in the role of the high school sweetheart's 13-year-old daughter, Riley in the upcoming Disney spinoff of BOY MEETS WORLD.
The site also reports that Disney has officially ordered the comedy pilot which will begin production this February. The possible series will take place over 10 years from when the original show left the airwaves. While series stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will reprise their roles, the series will center on 11-year-old Blanchard.
Fishel recently wrote on a Tumblr post that the new sitcom would feature "familiar faces, familiar themes and familiar messages" with the original. Michael Jacobs, the show's original creator and executive producer, will helm the pilot.
Blanchard's credits include appearances in Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D and The Back-Up Plan, Dance-A-Lot-Robot and Little in Common.
