AMERICAN BEAUTY star Mena Suvari and NYPD lead Henry Simmons have joined the back-door pilot STALKERS for Lifetime, The Hollywood Reporter announced this evening.
Suvari will take on the role of the stalker in which the project is centered around, while Simmons will play Diane Harper's (Drea de Matteo) partner.
Based on Rhonda Saunders' novel, Whisper of Fear: The True Story of the Prosecutor Who Stalks the Stalkers, the project follows Harper, a hot-headed cop with a dark past as she teams up with district attorney Julia Whitman (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) to hunt down an obsessed stalker.
The two-hour backdoor pilot will be presented as a made-for-TV-movie, with hopes of twisting into a full television show, a la THE CLIENT LIST.
STALKERS is expected to air in 2013 on Lifetime.
