NBC's been making beautiful music this past year with its successful programming, and some high notes were especially underscored yesterday with the announcement of Grammy nominations for the network's stars and shows -- Adam Levine (with Maroon 5) and Blake Shelton of "The Voice," Jimmy Fallon and "Smash."Shelton was honored with a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance for his song "Over"; Levine and his legendary band Maroon 5 received two nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album in "Overexposed" and for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the collaboration of Maroon 5 & Khalifa's "Payphone."Fallon earned a Grammy nod for Best Comedy Album for "Blow Your Pants Off"; and NBC's returning musical drama series "Smash" was a nominee as Best Song Written for Visual Media ("Let Me Be Your Star" from series songwriters Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman; performed by Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty). Shaiman and Wittman are also executive producers on "Smash."
For the fifth year, nominations for the annual GRAMMY Awards were announced on primetime television as part of "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! - Countdown To Music's Biggest Night," a one-hour CBS entertainment special broadcast live for the first time ever from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on "GRAMMY Sunday," Feb. 10, 2013, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
