Digitalspy.com reports that Nathan Lane will join THE GOOD WIFE in a recurring role this fall. CBS confirmed the news in a tweet last evening, June 26th.
The Broadway vet has had previous guest roles on the TV comedies Frasier, Curb Your Enthusiasm, 30 Rock and Modern Family. No details have been released about Lane's character. He will join Kristin Chenoweth and Maura Tierney who will also be making guest appearances on the drama series.
Nathan Lane is a two-time Tony and Emmy award-winning stage and screen star. He is best known for his roles as Albert in The Birdcage, Max Bialystock in the musical The Producers, Ernie Smuntz in MouseHunt, Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and his voice work in The Lion King and Stuart Little. In 2008, he was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame. He most recently appeared on Broadway in The Addams Family. He will soon return to Broadway in The Nance.
The Good Wife will return to CBS on Sundays at 9/8c this September. The series airs on More4 in the UK.
