Paulson, Lange, Peters to Return for Third Season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY

Vulture.com reports that Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters have all signed on to return for another chilling season of FX's AMERICAN HORROR STORY. Series creator Ryan Murphy revealed the news last night to reporters at an advance screening of the current season's finale episode.

Joked Murphy, "I got Jessica to do it because I did everything she asked ... and I also told her she will have hair, makeup, and the best designer gowns ever made. She's going to play a real glamour cat sort of lady."

Murphy also hinted that next season's saga would be set in more modern times and will be "funnier" than season two of the drama. "I really miss Jessica Lange as Constance, that kind of stuff. And I know she missed it too," Murphy shared.

Fans can also look forward to some interesting, yet currently unnamed guest stars next season, courtesy of Lange. "She's sort of become an uncredited producer now," he joked.

In 1992, Lange made her Broadway-theatre début in New York City opposite Alec Baldwin in Tennessee Williams's A Streetcar Named Desire. She appeared in the West End in London, United Kingdom, in 2000, as Mary Tyrone in Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night. In 2005, she returned to Broadway in another Tennessee Williams play, The Glass Menagerie with Christian Slater. With 2 Academy Awards won and 6 nominations, she may be most notable for her performances in Frances, Tootsie, Sweet Dreams, Blue Sky, and Grey Gardens.

Paulson starred in a revival of The Glass Menagerie on Broadway and has appeared Off-Broadway in Killer Joe, Talking Pictures, and Colder Than Here. Paulson's movie credits include Down with Love, What Women Want, The Other Sister, Levitation, and Serenity.
