Peter Gallagher to Guest on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

Peter Gallagher is set to guest star on CBS' hit show HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER this season, TV Guide has learned. Gallagher's episode is slated to air Dec. 17.

The acclaimed actor, who most recently has been seen on COVERT AFFAIRS, will take on the role of overly-confident Professor Vinick, a former architecture instructor of Ted's at Wesleyan University - who never cared for Ted all that much.

The eighth season of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER premiered this fall and continues to be a ratings and cultural hit for CBS. A ninth season has not yet officially been picked up, but as series star Josh Radnor hinted at last month, there are definite talks to bring back the MOTHER crew for another outing.
