Photo Flash: First Lady Michelle Obama Visits GMA

First Lady Michelle Obama appeared on ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA today to discuss her new book - American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America - and her message that having access to healthy, affordable food can promote better eating habits. Mrs. Obama also discussed the history of the White House garden, some of the recipes in the book, and tips for starting your own garden no matter where you live. On "Good Morning America," students from New York City's Public Schools 102 and 107, who have successfully grown their own container gardens, will show viewers how easy it is to get started.

Mrs. Obama then sits down with "The View" hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. The First Lady's appearance on "The View" is part of the show's continuing "Red, White & View" campaign highlighting interviews and informational segments that promote civic responsibility. Mrs. Obama previously appeared on "The View" in April 2011 and June 2008, when she made her daytime television debut as a special guest co-host.

An exclusive recipe and photos from the book will be available on goodmorningamerica.com on Yahoo! and abcnews.com. Goodmorningamerica.com has expanded its lead, and in April had 17 million more unique users than Today.com.

"Good Morning America" is a two-hour, live program anchored by Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos.
