As confirmed by former star of The West Wing Richard Schiff, film, television and stage writer Aaron Sorkin has finally joined Twitter.
Schiff Tweeted: "It's out. Yes, Aaron sent me word that it is indeed him. On to demand #TWWSong // @leenie909 @aaronsorkin @lawrence @joshmalina @dulehill."
Since joining on October 26th, Sorkin has Tweeted the picture featured with this article of himself holding The New York Times and standing in front of The West Wing and Studio 60 posters. The second of just two Tweets on his account echoes Schiff's request for the "#TWWSong".
Sorkin Tweeted: "@richard_schiff: Other than 18 hrs/day for 7 years I've never asked for anything. I want the A. Silber cover. #TWWSong @alsilbs."
Sorkin is referring to Alexandra Silber's version of The West Wing theme song featuring her own lyrics. Schiff recorded Silber performing the tune and will release it when the Twitter demand (measured by the hashtag #TWWSong) becomes high enough.
Aaron Sorkin won an Oscar for writing the film The Social Network and is executive producer and writer of the multiple Emmy winner "The West Wing", as well as the new show "The Newsroom" on HBO. Also a playwright, Sorkin has written Making Movies, A Few Good Men and The Farnsworth Invention. He also wrote the book for Marty.
