Rupert Wyatt Signs on to Direct AMC's Historical Thriller TURN

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES' helmer, Rupert Wyatt, has officially signed on to direct AMC's upcoming pilot TURN, Deadline reports.

The project is based upon Alexander Rose's book WASHINGTON's SPIES, which is officially described as set in "summer of 1778, with the war poised to turn in his favor, General George Washington desperately needed to know where the British would strike next. To that end, he unleashed his secret weapon: an unlikely ring of spies in New York charged with discovering the enemy's battle plans and military strategy. "

The historical thriller comes from NIKITA's Craig Silverstein and Barry Josephson. Silverstein will serve as writer/executive produer, with Josephson also executive producing.
