Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros today announced that they will record a live performance for Season 38 of the PBS series Austin City Limits, the longest running music program in television history. Austin City Limits is the only award-winning television show to have been honored with the National Medal of the Arts. The episode featuring Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros is scheduled to air tonight, February 9, 2013 on PBS stations around the United States (check local listings).
The band also recently revealed a new music video for their song "Child" from this spring's acclaimed release Here. The video was directed by Polish fan Michael Byra - winner of a contest powered by Genero.tv The winning video was chosen specifically by the band and Genero.tv.

Said the band's Alex Ebert, "Firstly, a huge thanks to all who contributed videos - it has been humbling receiving such an array of impassioned work. Though we have singled out three, I truly hope that the process of making every one of these videos has been a rewarding experience for everyone who involved themselves. I know that each video will exist forever in its own right and I thank you all for gifting us with these timeless creations. As for our three picks, we watched them in a small room, all of us together, and laughed and cried. Thank you very much for these eloquent, thoughtful, daring videos."
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros recently wrapped up a North American tour and will head to Australia this week for nearly sold-out run of dates with Mumford & Sons. The band is touring in support of their second album entitled Here, which was released on May 29th via Community Music. Relix Magazine hailed it as "an album full of undeniable folk-rock hooks, gospel overtones, infectious lyrics, orchestral swells and a whole lot of love," and Entertainment Weekly praised the album and its "lovely troubadour melodies."
The band is putting the final touches on the follow up to Here, which will be released next year and will perform at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest on November 4th.
