Scoop: WHITNEY on NBC - Wednesday, December 26, 2012

"POOR WHITNEY" - 12/26/2012 (08:00PM - 08:30PM) (Wednesday) : NO MONEY, MORE PROBLEMS – Alex (Chris D'Elia) and Whitney (Whitney Cummings) decide to share a joint checking account as Whitney is hard up for cash. The plan goes awry after she is less than impressed with Alex's finances and from there the penny pinching begins. Meanwhile, Mark (Dan O'Brien) makes a rash decision and buys a bar to the chagrin of everyone. Rhea Seahorn and Zoe Lister-Jones also appear.

NBC's multi-camera comedy "Whitney" is a hilarious look at modern day love, which centers around Whitney (Whitney Cummings, "Chelsea Lately") and Alex (Chris D'Elia, "Glory Daze"), a happily unmarried couple. Together for three years, the duo is in no rush to get hitched.

The couple is surrounded by their quirky group of friends, Zoe Lister-Jones ("The Other Guys"), Rhea Seehorn ("The Starter Wife"), Dan O'Brien ("How I Met Your Mother"), and Tone Bell (new to the second season of the show).

At the end of the day, Whitney and Alex realize that while their relationship might not be perfect on paper, they really do love each other -- and that works for them.

The series is produced by Universal Television and Bluegrass Television. The executive producers are Scott Stuber ("The Breakup"), Quan Phung, Wil Calhoun ("Friends") and Barry Katz ("Last Comic Standing") are executive producers along with Cummings who is the executive producer/writer and Andy Ackerman ("Seinfeld") who is executive producer/director.
