TBS's new competition series King of the Nerds got off to a strong start last night in the network's key demos. The series launch drew more than 1.2 million adults 18-49 in Live + Same Day, with 586,000 adults 18-34. In all, the premiere attracted 2 million total viewers.
Hosted by actors Robert Carradine (Revenge of the Nerds and The Long Riders) and Curtis Armstrong (Revenge of the Nerds and Ray), King of the Nerds features competitors from across the nerd spectrum facing challenges that test their intellect, ingenuity, skills and pop-culture prowess. The nerds live together in "Nerdvana," competing first as teams before moving on to individual challenges. In the end, only one competitor will be named the quintessential master of all things nerdy, winning the $100,000 prize.
King of the Nerds, which airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on TBS, is executive-produced by Ben Silverman and Jimmy FOX of Electus and Rick Ringbakk and Craig Armstrong of 5X5 Media, as well as Carradine and Armstrong. Electus International, the global distribution arm of Electus, is distributing the series internationally.
