TEEN WOLF's Colton Haynes Lands Sidekick Role on ARROW

TVGuide has confirmed TEEN WOLF alum Colton Haynes has secured himself a major role on The CW's ARROW: Roy Harper. Harper, who made his comic debut in 1941, has been known under many aliases: Speedy, Arsenal, and Red Arrow. Regardless of his superhero identity, he's always been the Green Arrow's sidekick.

This time around, The CW is describing Harper as "a handsome, street-savvy, teenager from 'the Glades,' the harsh, poverty-stricken portion of Starling City."

"We were big fans of Colton from TEEN WOLF and we are thrilled he's joining Arrow," said executive producer Greg Berlanti. Haynes will make his debut on the series in early 2013.

Harper is also poised to serve as a love interest for Thea (Willa Holland) and is "destined to become a significant part of her life and an important player in the larger world of ARROW."

A few months ago, Haynes announced via Twitter that he would be departing MTV's hit drama TEEN WOLF. Aside from WOLF, Haynes has also appeared in PUSHING DAISIES and CSI.

ARROW scored a bull's-eye for The CW with its premiere, which drew 4.14 million viewers, making it the network's most watched telecast of any show, on any night, in three years. The ARROW debut also marked The CW's most watched series premiere since THE VAMPIRE DIARIES in 2009. In its second outing, ARROW became the only new network drama this season to maintain its audience in both adults 18-34 and adults 18-49 from its premiere to its second week.

ARROW is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg.
