Baby Boomers and classic TV fans alike can stroll down memory lane when the release of the original hidden-camera comedy format "THE LOST ACHIVES OF CANDID CAMERA" hits the shelves of WAL-MART and other fine retailers nationwide on March 12, 2013. The classic bits, which feature comedy icons Allen Funt, Carol Burnett, Garry Moore, Durwood Kirby and more, have been assembled and re-mastered into a 2-disc set by Legendary Entertainment Alliance (LEA) (www.LEAdistribution.com), a newly launched home entertainment company.
This never-before-seen release (which is being distributed under an exclusive label deal between LEA and eOne Distribution) will also be supported by a national direct response ad campaign. The marketing effort will be specially designed to promote retail awareness while simultaneously presenting a Special TV Offer for customers who visit www.LostCandidCamera.com.
LEA, who controls one of the largest independently owned classic TV Libraries in the industry, curated THE LOST ARCHIVES OF CANDID CAMERA from numerous episodes of the Emmy Award winning hit series, THE GARRY MOORE SHOW produced by Legendary TV Producer Bob Banner. Banner used his variety show platform as a vehicle to introduce CANDID CAMERA to network television and made it a major segment of the show each week. The segment gained such incredible popularity that it eventually spun off into its own series which became a SMASH hit and was later bought by Viacom. However, the original, laugh-out-loud moments that introduced the world to Candid Camera remained in Banner's library, and haven't aired since their original broadcast.
